I don't think I've outgrown coloring books because I like to draw in pencil then color the image with watercolor. "Flare" is from my imagination.

This cat lived next door to us but was very aloof. Often when I opened the window to look out toward his home, he would be stretched out on his driveway. He would look up at me with this exact expression. Funny guy!

One evening this was my view from the dining porch of the old ranch house in which we stayed in northern New Mexico. It was in the fall and getting colder everyday. I was attending an art workshop near Taos.

This large, colorful pitcher was given to me by a group of friends and quickly became a favorite decorator piece in my kitchen. I had fun painting the background with a palette knife, very thickly, before switching to the tradtional brushes.

In a trip to New Mexico we found this small creek which seemed to be a part of the Pecos River nearby. The beautiful Aspen trees were bright with their fall finery.

We took our two eldest grandchildren to a dude ranch near Bandera, Texas one year. I painted this scene to show the natural beauty of the area. I can still feel the warm breeze that day in central Texas.

This beautiful little wood nymph watches from the flowers in the flowerbed or is imagined at other times in the thick underbrush of a windling, jungle trail.

Mona Lisa 'Roo is the most famous kangaroo of all.....at least she should be. She has the same enigmatic smile of her famous alter ego, but with a much more colorful personality. .

This is our cat, Abby Cat, doing one of her favorite things.....sitting in the windowsill, staring out into the night thinking deep thoughts or watching things we cannot see.

On days when my imagination takes the day off, I look around for something to paint. The "stuff" in my studio looked promising and colorful, so I arranged them attractively and painted away.

Inspired by the colors of the Southwest and fashion art, I painted this imaginary woman. She would fit right in visitng the fine art galleries in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

This painting was a lot of fun first a high fashion figure, then the wild colored background, then splatterd paint all over.

I have no idea why I decided to paint a pigeon, but he looked so drab until I added his newest party outfit. He ready for a night on the town.

This gorgeous flower grew in our backyard, and bloomed for only about a day. I knew I had to paint it. Of course, anytime my art starts getting too serious, hearts, stars, etc. begin to appear. I like that.
